Each beat of my heart says…

Hudson Taylor, well know English missionary that started China Inland Mission in the late 1800s,  was so feeble in the closing months of his life that he wrote a dear friend: “I am so weak I cannot write; I cannot read my Bible; I cannot even pray. I can only lie still in God’s arms like a little child, and trust.”

Richard Wurmbrand, Romanian pastor, spend 13 years in a Communist prison for proclaiming Christ as his sole crime. Once he was locked up in solitary confinement for 3 years – in total darkness – no lights and no noise. He knew many of the NT books by heart. He started to forget chapter after chapter. Later he could not even remember the words of the Our Father prayer. Then he said to God: Father I feel like a failure because I cannot remember your Word anymore. But each beat of my heart says: “I love you.”
